Rob Clennan

Rob joined Mortgage Solutions Financial in November 1996, starting in inside sales. He later advanced to loan officer, branch manager, and vice president of sales. During this period, he helped lead the successful transition of the company’s brand from Freedom Financial Services to Mortgage Solutions Financial.

Over his time with the company, Rob has hired, trained, and guided hundreds of loan officers. As chief production officer, he helped identify and grow a number of new and emerging markets, leading the company to all-time production records, beating previous records by over 50 percent.

Rob earned an Executive MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver. He resides in Colorado Springs with his wife and two daughters.

Nate Hernandez

Nate Hernandez began his career in finance as a Loan Officer more than twenty years ago. Now, at Mortgage Solutions Financial, he leads as Chief Production Officer, overseeing both Retail and Wholesale operations to boost productivity.

In his role, Nate collaborates closely with all departments, stressing a special partnership with operations that’s rare in the industry. This teamwork sets us apart from other lenders, helping us provide top-notch service to our loan officers and clients.

Nate, a Colorado native, still has deep ties to his home state. He lives in Denver with his partner Heather and their dog Hutch, while his son is away at university. Nate loves spending time outdoors and playing golf, but most of all, he treasures moments with family and friends.

When asked about his favorite part of working at Mortgage Solutions Financial, Nate always mentions the people. He believes the company’s unique culture fosters a sense of togetherness and respect among colleagues.

Jeff Trusheim

Jeff Trusheim comes to MSF with a comprehensive and thorough resume. Jeff lives and breathes all things financial, starting with his three-decade strong career at Arthur Andersen and Company shortly after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Houston. With his affinity for numbers, real estate and mortgages, Jeff soon went from auditor and accountant to financial advisor, risk manager and Chief Financial Officer with some of the most prestigious firms such as the Royal Bank of Canada, Prudential and Aegis. Specializing in company growth and financial development, it is no surprise that Jeff’s bank of knowledge and keen attention to detail are in high demand, and he comes highly recommended. Much like the town where he hails from (Humble, Texas), Jeff’s humility and respect for hard work and integrity are infectious. At least that’s what the hundreds of employees who have worked with Jeff have said. Jeff is a seasoned skier and is looking forward to frequenting the slopes of Colorado.

Ben Robinson

Ben Robinson has over 20 years of experience in mortgage and operations. With a versatile skillset that lends him to every facet of the operational system, Ben’s career has seen him transform companies into well-oiled machines. Whether he has had to underwrite loans himself, set up an entire operations department from scratch, train personnel or manage an entire division, Ben has always succeeded in proving his strength in operations. Ben’s previous positions include Operations Manager, Chief Operations Officer, National Underwriting Manager, and Senior Operations Manager with various companies across America.

Under Ben’s leadership, the Mortgage Solutions Financial operations teams has successfully navigated record-breaking sales seasons, all while maintaining uninterrupted excellence in communication, morale and workflow.

He and his wife currently live in Colorado Springs with their five children.

Bobbie Collins

Bobbie Collins joins Mortgage Solutions Financial with an extensive background in law, compliance and management. She worked the past decade in two large national law firms handling commercial real estate transactions and representing lenders and loan servicers in residential real estate litigation. She was also previously licensed as a real estate broker.

She has served on committees for national and state real estate organizations including Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and Urban Land Institute (ULI). She is currently a director on the Colorado Bar Association’s Tax Council, and serves as a liaison to its Real Estate Council. She obtained her law degree (J.D.) and a Masters in Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

Bobbie is passionate about helping Veterans and their families, and co-founded a nonprofit, the Council for Military Spouse Clubs, which educates and provides best practices resources for the governance and operations of nonprofit military spouse clubs.

Bobbie lives in Colorado Springs with her husband, an Air Force Reservist based at Peterson AFB, and her 3 children. When not at work, she enjoys DIY projects at home and hunting for the perfect chicken enchilada.

Dawn Dawson

Dawn Dawson has worked in advertising since 1992, and in mortgage (with Mortgage Solutions Financial) since 2000. She has defined the brand of Mortgage Solutions Financial over the years and has expanded its influence from a single branch to close to one hundred branches during her tenure.

Dawn’s work spans across all media channels to include digital, social and traditional. Her area of expertise lies in strategic futurecasting, identifying and implementing marketing trends prior to mainstream adoption and strong brand positioning from the grassroots level to the top.

She has been named one of the Colorado Springs Business Journal’s Top 40 Most Influential People and has won multiple American Advertising Federation’s Addie awards for her work. She has been a past President of the American Advertising Foundation and has served on the western regional board for the AAF. She is a two-time jet ski racing World Champion and was the first female broadcast commentator for the sport, broadcasting to over a billion households across the globe. Dawn has also appeared as a voice talent in numerous radio ads in the US and Canada.

Dawn is a graduate of Sul Ross University with a BS in Business. Outside of work, Dawn enjoys extensive travel, attending ad conferences (for fun), and scuba diving.

Marilyn Harris

Marilyn Harris is a compliance and risk management maven. Her extensive and longstanding career proves that she is one of the best in her field and we are lucky to have her call Mortgage Solutions Financial home.

Marilyn has worked with several banks across the country over three decades. She has worn several hats within compliance, from Bank Secrecy Act Officer, Community Reinvestment Officer, Fair Lending Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Director. Her skillset as a guardian of Fair and Responsible Banking is one that lends itself perfectly to Mortgage Solutions Financial, helping to safeguard the integrity of our loan officers, operations team, borrowers and partners.

Marilyn has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communications from Long Island University, New York. She was also a scholarship recipient, and graduate, of the University of Oklahoma’s American Bankers Association Consumer Compliance School. She is a past member of the Consumer Banking Association Fair and Responsible Banking Group, and has sat on the board of the South Florida Compliance Association and has served on the Broward County, Florida Affordable Housing Task Force. She lives in Colorado Springs with her adorable pups, Cooper and Bandit.

Ian Morgan

Ian Morgan brings over two decades of specialized experience in both the mortgage and IT sectors to Mortgage Solutions Financial. Ian is dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency and security and revolutionizing Mortgage Solutions Financial’s existing IT infrastructure as our company grows.

With expertise in information security and safety, digital infrastructure planning and system implementation, Ian represents the way forward for our company for our internal team and ultimately, our borrowers. His experience in the finance sector as an IT leader for over 20 years has established him as a go-to resource to many in the industry.

Ian is a graduate of Colorado State.

Beyond the corporate realm, Ian is a seasoned participant in drag racing and ice hockey. Ian also enjoys exploring Eldorado State Park and Chautauqua with his wife of over 25 years, Elizabeth and his two four-legged companions.

Kim McKee

Kim McKee comes to MSF with a wealth of experience and an impressive three-decade career in human resources. Her journey spans both the public and private sectors. Her passion for empowering people and driving organizational success has led her to become a trusted leader in human capital management. Her expertise includes everything from talent acquisition and total rewards to organizational effectiveness, technology, and analytics. She is recognized for creating cultures of high performance by aligning HR strategies with business objectives and fostering environments where employees can thrive.

Throughout her career, Kim has left an indelible mark on every organization she has worked with, earning a reputation for her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence. She holds top industry certifications as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional and HRCI Senior Professional in Human Resources, further solidifying her as a leader in the field.

A Colorado Springs resident for many years, Kim is as passionate about her community as she is about her work. She volunteers as a genetic genealogist with Search Squad, helping families reconnect, and at St. Mary’s High School, where she invests her time on the HR Committee.

Kim’s family is her cornerstone. She celebrates life’s milestones with joy, including the marriages of her two children and the recent arrival of her first granddaughter. When she isn’t helping others or driving organizational success, Kim loves exploring the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and spending time outdoors.

Jesse Lopez

Jesse Lopez has over 20 years of mortgage experience. With deep roots in sales and branch management, Jesse has a proven history of success in growing branches by training and communicating the company culture. He served as VP of Retail and VP of Wholesale for Mortgage Solutions Financial. Under his leadership the training division of Mortgage Solutions was created and has grown expansively in the past year. Jesse and his team have been designing innovative and engaging learning programs, managing external vendors, and overarching projects that support the company’s strategic objectives. Jesse was instrumental in developing a new CRM platform for the TPO division.

When Jesse is enjoying a few moments of downtime, it is usually with his best friend and wife of 14 years, Adriana, and their 3 children; Elianna, Schyler and Stone. A Colorado native, living in Colorado Springs, Jesse is an outdoor enthusiast. He says, “The mountains call to me. I believe I would shrivel up and fade away if they were not a part of my life.”

Steve Chavira

Steve’s criteria for success has always been to have a career with an organization that allows him to be part of something bigger than himself, one with the liberty and empowerment to serve others for mutual success. After nearly 10 years in the mortgage industry, he’s found that opportunity with Mortgage Solutions Financial.

Prior to joining our team, Steve spent time with Wells Fargo Financial, Countrywide Financial, Bank of America and Icon Residential Lenders. In June of 2012, Steve was named Texas wholesale area sales manager and inherited a Texas territory that had little wholesale brand recognition and no production. Over the next four years, Steve and his team of loyal AE’s grew the Texas territory to outstanding results. In April of 2016, Steve was promoted to the position of eastern division manager of wholesale and correspondent, and quintupled monthly production in just six months.

As vice president of wholesale lending, and with the values embodied in our “Way Forward” as his guide, Steve is grateful and humble for the opportunity to lead the Mortgage Solutions Financial Wholesale and Correspondent division toward sustainable production growth for many years to come.

Steve has been married to his wife Razsan for eleven years, and together they have two precious daughters: six-year-old Milah and two-month-old Loalh Harper. To relax, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, following his Alma mater Texas Tech, and good BBQ.

Rick Smith

Rick Smith joins Mortgage Solutions Financial with more than 35 years of experience in the mortgage servicing industry. He is an experienced servicing executive, having held positions with UCLS, TMS, Marix Servicing, and Clayton Holdings. His extensive experience led him to present on the conference circuit for the MBA/GSE and the Global Real Estate Summit in Monaco, Monte Carlo.

He is a proven leader in platform development and special servicing with expertise in the development of servicing platforms from the ground up. This specialization brings Rick to MSF with an air of excitement surrounding him!

Rick and Lisa, his wife of 35 years, live in Colorado Springs, Colorado and are originally from Avon, Connecticut.

James Jopio

James brings over twenty years of experience in Secondary/Capital Markets to Mortgage Solutions Financial. He is well known for his focus on data integrity, reconciliation, financial modeling, and risk management. James takes pride in mentoring his staff to maximize profitability and productivity. Since joining the MSF team, he has been essential to maintaining profitability and strategic initiatives.

James has been married for twenty years, has two dogs and two children – a daughter that is eighteen years old and a son that’s thirteen years old. When James is not spending time with his family, he enjoys taking his Jeep off-road on beautiful Colorado trails.
