Accounts Payable Associate

Role Overview

The Accounts Payable Associate works in a team environment and is responsible for understanding and applying Accounting procedures in an autonomous and proactive manner. These procedures and processes include: reconciliation of various accounts; researching & posting JE’s, managing Appraisal & General AP invoices and associated payments; ensuring the highest level of AP accuracy; reporting and accountability; and other special accounting projects as assigned.

Essential Duties

  • Perform day-to-day Accounts Payable functions, including verifying, classifying, and recording of Accounts Payable Data
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies associated with the processing of invoices
  • Prepare batch check runs, post to the General Ledger, wire transfers, and ACH transactions
  • Perform assigned month-end, quarter-end, and year-end tasks, including but not limited to: reconciliation of assigned bank and General Ledger accounts
  • Maintain vendor W-9 files
  • Handle vendor correspondence via phone or email
  • Research, preparation, and posting of journal entries
  • Cross-functional collaboration with other departments
  • Monitor vendor accounts to ensure payments are disbursed timely
  • Other duties, as assigned


  • Minimum 1 year of Accounts Payable experience
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Intermediate or above Excel skills (matching, formulas, tables, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products
  • Solid understanding of basic accounts payable principles and GAAP
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Demonstrated problem solving prowess
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team player
  • Works well in a very fast paced environment
  • Must be comfortable working with large amounts of data
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service mindset is a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented

Position Type: Non-exempt
Location: Corporate (Colorado Springs)
Pay Range: $17 per hour
